How do I use the sizing guide?Updated 17 minutes ago

Getting the right fit matters. A helmet needs to fit correctly to do its job properly, so we always recommend using our sizing guide before you place your order. Ruroc’s motorcycle and snow helmet fit is an intermediate oval.

How to measure your head

To measure correctly:

  1. Use a fabric measuring tape. Wrap it around your head just above your eyebrows and ears.
  2. Pull the tape comfortably tight and take the measurement.
  3. Repeat the measurement once more and go with the larger reading.

Once you have your measurement, enter it into the sizing tool on the relevant product page to see your recommended size. Ruroc’s live sizing guide also advises not to guess your size and to use the measuring guide if you are unsure.

If you are between sizes

If your measurement is close to the upper limit of a size range, we recommend sizing up for a more optimal fit. That guidance is already used on Ruroc’s live sizing guide and is the clearest rule for customers who sit near the top of a bracket.

What the fit should feel like

Your helmet should feel snug and secure all the way around your head, without painful pressure points. It should not feel loose or move excessively when fastened correctly. A helmet that is too large will not offer the fit it was designed to provide, while a helmet that is too tight may be uncomfortable over time.

If your size still doesn’t feel right

If you have used the sizing guide and your helmet still does not feel quite right, do not worry. If the fit is not right, you can review our returns and exchanges guidance for the next steps. Your current sizing content also points customers to the returns page for more detail.
